Temperature rises only when stationary and fan does not cut in. so, if fan does not cut in must be the switch (its gone before). but i've tested the fan switch (two prong electromagnetic fan, no aircon) and this is fine going open circuit at about 100c. i've also bridged the twin socket connector for the fan switch, which should have caused. Last saturday was very warm outside and i got stuck in the traffic near brighton (because of the tragedy in shoreham) so the coolant temp probably crossed the 105oc maybe 110oc. i turned on the cabin heater and it dropped down to 90oc. the aux fan never cut in to help cooling the engine. it is only working when the a c is on.
