Bleeding Coolant System Can Am Atv Forum Never done a coolant system bleed and my system stays nice and cool. i usually let it cycle a few times, let the fan come on,then off, then the coolant should bubble, then fan on, then off, then coolant bubble. i usually let the fan come on and off 2 3 times. make sure if your gonna let it do it a few times do it outside. Bleed Air From Cooling System Can Am Atv Forum From the manual 500 model: filling cooling system. raise rear of vehicle 4" or so. pinch off hose between radiator and thermostat, see photo (large vise grips work for me) remove bleed screw at thermostat housing. fill radiator until coolant comes out bleed screw hole. install bleed screw & remove pincher. complete filling radiator. I then started to fill the coolant till it started flowing out the bleed screws. i then installed the bleed screws and removed the clamp from the hose and kept filling the rad until it was full. put the cap on and started the machine. let the fan turn on and cycle. then the fan will not shut off. the hi temp light comes on. Loosing coolant in there atvs can be a bear to bleed the system out. most likely unless your radiator is clogged it still has air in the system. a few things you can try. jack up front of quad 2 or 3 feet, start quad, remove radiator cap, let it run and and squeeze both radiator hoses. this can release air bubbles in the system. when you squeeze the hoses the coolant will rise in the radiator. First. fill to max line and reinstall cap. let run thru tw fan cycles, after second fan cycle rev 3 or 4 times. shut off and let cool. fill up again if needed. seems a little basic but thats what is written in manual. i just went thru this with my thermostat. hope its just air. reply like.

I followed the steps in the brp manual, they were pretty good. the radiator is on an angle on the hood (its a wild boar rad kit). if taking the rad cap off lets the remaining air out i might jack up the end of the bike (so that the rad sits straight) and let it idle with the rad cap off. Megadesertdiesel said: pull the radiator and clean it the right way by soaking it. most just leave it in and try to spray it out, they end up with cooling issues. i never had any issues bleeding my system and i have had my radiator out twice and motor out once. let it idle and top off a few times. take extra coolant on your first ride to top off.
