Commander 1000 Xt Overheating Can Am Commander Forum Overheating commander 1000. i have a 14 commander xt 1000. i can't get it to stop overheating. fan works. 1st i installed override switch did not fix it. 2nd i did thermostat delete kit did not fix it and am contemplating putting a thermostat back in it after reading the mixed reviews on the delete kits. 3rd i put a new impeller in the water. Overheating Page 2 Can Am Commander Forum I just solved this issue on my 2015 commander 1000 dps. unit is new to me and was having overheating issues after 15 mins of ridding and went into limp home mode. after watching several videos and guides i solved this issue without having to jack up the unit, without having to tilt it side to side or installing a thermostat bypass. 2013 commander 1000 overheating. been trying to find any and all information on why it overheats. there seems to be a lot of different theories from just reading online. a few weeks ago i got on my parents commander and i'm almost positive they overheated it multiple times but i could be wrong. so, i changed the thermostat and then the radiator. Bleed the system while engine is cold and hot be careful while hot. 2. test cooling fan pull temp sensor on rear cylinder when running. once pulled, the check engine light should come on and fan should start running. 3. check fuses fuses in the rear near voltage regulator. if your lights don't work, your fan is probably not working.
